Tanya Hambourg

Tanya Hambourg teaches piano, all levels on the viola, and is certified to teach Suzuki Violin through Book 6. She teaches Suzuki and Traditional violin and viola methods in addition to piano and has been teaching since 1998 and in the Las Vegas area since 2018.

Tanya grew up in Oregon and started violin at age 6 via the Suzuki Method with her father as her teacher. She also learned the piano and the viola. Tanya played viola with the Portland Youth Philharmonic, the America's Youth in Concert, and attended the Tanglewood Young Artists Institute. Tanya earned her BM and MM in Viola Performance from Boston University.

Her teachers include Michael Zaretsky and Raphael Hillyer. Tanya is a violist with the Nevada Chamber Orchestra and the Henderson Symphony Orchestra. Tanya's teaching mission is to provide excellent instruction and to encourage the joy of music in each student. Her students have succeeded in their orchestra auditions. They have received superior ratings at Festivals and have won and received honorable mention at competitions.

Tanya has a wonderful way with very young students. Her patience and kindness were consistent from Max's first lesson to his last.
