When will I play my first song?

You'll start making music at your very first lesson! Your teacher will show you some basic excercises and get a sense for your musical ability and existing knowledge. Don't stress if you're a total beginner or a little rusty. This kind of musical getting to know you is something your teacher does with every new student. It allows them to make the right recommendations for you. Over the first few weeks with your teacher, you'll focus on basic technique and simple excercises and songs. If there is a specifc song that you want to work on, mention it to your teacher as soon as your first lesson. Remember, teachers are amazing, but they're not mindreaders, so definitely let them know if there is something that specifically interests you. They'll be happy to help you learn that song!

It may take a while to be ready to play it, but they can help you work toward that goal.

Remember, learning music is a lifelong journey, and just like learning a new language, you have to learn the nouns, verbs, adjectivers and so on before you're ready to start speaking. Your first sentences may be broken, but the more you practice and spend time with your teacher, the faster you'll find fluency.
