2024 Winter Recital: What You Need to Know

2024 Winter Recital Details

Welcome, musicians! Here is all the information about the 2024 Winter Recital! We're going to have an amazing time, and we can't wait to showcase all your hard work! Remember, YOU are the reason you have made it to this point! We're so proud of you, but, more importantly, YOU should be proud of YOURSELF!

Remember to share your progress and tag @doorstepmusiclessons on Facebook and Instagram as you get ready for the big day.

What are the benefits of playing on the recital?

Playing a music recital is super fun! Every student who feels ready should play the recital! This is a great opportunity to get performance experience, have fun and show off what you've done!

  • Ok to play pieces from a method book

  • You can play with music or from memory

  • Fun and low stress

  • Show off how cool you are

Every student gets a beautiful commemorative performance certificate celebrating their performance on the recital, and this year is no different! We will also record the entire event for you to share and rewatch, and professional photography will also be taken. You'll be able to download the photos at no charge after the event.

What are the event details?

Date: 12/14/2024

Times: 1st session at 2:30, 2nd session at 4:00 pm, overflow session at 5:30 pm

Your specific time will be assigned on 12/2 following the close of registration on 12/1.

Location: Epiphany Episcopal Church (South Valley), 10450 Gilespie St, Las Vegas, NV 89183

Notes: Thank you to our friends at Epiphany Episcopal Church for again agreeing to host us, especially Music Director Roger Pan. This is a non-religious event. If you would like to make a donation to the church, that would be welcome.

Students: arrive 30 min BEFORE your scheduled time

Restrictions: Due to space limitations, please do not bring strollers/carseats into the building. There is not space in the Narthex (lobby) or in the Sanctuary for these items. (It is a short walk from the parking lot to the Sanctuary).

Guests: No tickets are required. To allow as many families to enjoy the recital as possible, we kindly ask that students be limited to four guests per family (not including the student). Young children may sit on their parents' laps.

Admission Cost: FREE for students and families, no tickets required.

Please arrive 30 min in advance of your scheduled time warmed up. In order to allow students using equipment like microphones and amps to check their equipment before taking the stage, we may not be able to allow everyone to warm up due to time limitations.

What should I wear to a recital?

Dress code: This is a fun event! Students should consider dressing festively, think Holiday Sweater, Santa costume, etc, or Sunday Best, dressed to impress! Students, feel free to go above and beyond with your attire! You'll look great in photos!

If you have not already registered, speak with your teacher immediately! Spots are filling quickly, and we are currently filling the last timeslot now. If you have any questions, please contact your teacher.

Should I buy a gift for my student?

Remember, recitals are a celebration of your student's hard work, dicipline, talent and practice throughout the semester. While a gift isn't required, consider taking your student to their favorite restaurant, buying them flowers, or giving them a small present to celebrate their hard work and success!

Music Lessons Bingo!

Be sure to speak with your teacher about participating in Music Lessons Bingo, now through 12/14/2024. The bingo is packed with opportunities to help you get more out of lessons, have fun, learn new things, and be entered into a special drawing at the recital!
